Even the developers need their own apps.
UI Design / Front-End Development
The application that the internal development team uses to track their apps' usage, errors, stored procedures, feature flags, database commands and security settings was outdated and clunky. They needed a sleek and streamlined UI that allowed them to easily add new items and lookup existing ones.
We wanted to improve the look and feel, but also the function. Switching from an older version of the Bootstrap library to a React based MUI component library would allow us more flexibility for the application itself. Additionally, the design itself needed to be simplified and rid of all the excess "design-y" features that served no purpose.
The Material Design UI for React library offered us pre-built and customizable components. The application's front-end was quickly and easily built using this library and because we already had the .NET base form the previous application, the back-end came along quickly as well.
Moving forward, it made sense to base all of the internal applications off of the same "style structure" resulting in the creation of Design Guidelines for the team.
